On Saturday, September 1, 2001, fans of the science fiction show "Battlestar
Galactica" will celebrate the 23rd Anniversary of the show's premiere
with a main event at the DragonCon convention in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A.
at 5:30pm EDT. (Check on-site DragonCon convention listings for location
of the Battlestar Galactica panel.) The event is highlighted by
appearances from original cast members and special messages from various
actors who could not attend in-person.
Please note: DragonCon has scheduled
the Battlestar Galactica panel at the same time
as Richard Hatch's The
Great War of Magellan panel. Both panels will
likely combine into one; please double-check DragonCon's
on-site schedule for the panel locations.
Fans on the Internet will celebrate as well with web
site tributes, online discussions via bulletin boards,
club gatherings. Fans are also encouraged to celebrate
in their own way, by watching Battlestar Galactica
episodes on videotape; discussing the show with friends
and family; posting tributes on personal web sites;
writing
letters of support for the upcoming, new Battlestar
Galactica show from Bryan Singer and Tom DeSanto,
etc.
